Jon has been on my mind for the past few days! His loss remains incomprehensible. He took his position as Executive Editor at The Sun very seriously and was well-respected by all. I remember going to the Bartlett School with him and Dick Hunt, photographer, to meet with two classes who wanted to respond to complaints from neighbors about them. He was patient and clear in explaining how newspapers work, and what they needed to do to respond. He actually ran their hand-written letters and...

Having just learned of Jon's loss today... 12/1/16, I am stunned and deeply saddened to feel again the Lowell's community's loss when he moved to Waterbury.... but, ever more deeply, to know that his brilliant mind will no longer teach cub... and seasoned reporters how to hone and improve ttheir skills. (Jon would NEVER have approved of such a long, run-on sentence,,, but he's not here... or maybe he is.).
