Uncle Joe was a very special and kind man. I grew up with his love and kindness. He will never be forgotten and the memories I have of him will forever be in my heart. Joe Auteri was a co-worker and good friend to my father, Solomon Neal, when they worked for the Port of San Francisco. The friendship continued after their retirements. I particularly recall the thoughtful and insightful comments Joe shared with me at the time of my father's death in February 1994.
