World War II Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his tour of duty he attended the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Upon graduating his faith led him to monastery life as a Trappist Monk. He later went on to serve as a Licensed Funeral Director working with his family until the early 1980's. He now joins his three brothers, Maj. Michael E. Clavin (killed in action in Germany), James R. Clavin and Thomas A. Clavin, all veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. He was a proud uncle of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Visiting will take place at his family's home, Clavin Funeral Home, 7722 Fourth Ave, Brooklyn on Monday, Veterans Day, 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm.
