Joe was a very special friend to me, from high school through our early thirties, and I regret that we lost touch. Joe was one of the most interesting and unique people that I have ever known. I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to his family regarding their loss of Joe.

Brenda, l just found out today about Joe,l am so very sorry. I only met him a few times. He always had a smile and something nice to say. It's not easy what you're going through. Just know that there are people that love you and will be there for you. God's one of them. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Your friend at Ups

Dear Brenda,
I was deeply saddened last night when Corinne gave me the news of Joe's passing. He was a kindred soul to me, one of self-deprecation, intensity, ribald humor, outside-the-box intelligence, and a flair for seeing things in a novel light. Let these attributes bring you solace.

Brenda - We will miss Joe's different and always stimulating take on the world, his enthusiasm and determination on the squash and tennis courts, and his boundless appetite for tilting at the next windmill.

Brenda, When I think of Joe I think of all the good times like the YMBC Christmas dances, playing tennis at the Greencroft. Joe was a great partner and a formidable adversay. The great duck hunting trips at Shenandoah River. Nights at the Red-Land Club playing poker and rolling dice. I love his wit and wry sence of humor. He will be sorely missed. Our
thoughts and prayers are with you.

Brenda, Ross Stevens just informed me about Joe's passing and I wanted to know your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I have a lot of very fond memories playing paddle with Joe, Mike, and Ross over the years and really enjoyed getting to know Joe during those paddle matches. I loved his intensity, humor, and wit, and will miss him. My condolences to you and Joe's family.
