Joseph Alan "Joe" Johnson

I just learned that you were gone. The world was a brighter place when I believed you were still in it. You were a sui generis, loving and joyful, life-embracing presence, and you will be missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have our paths cross yours, both in the theatre and out in that other, less brightly-lit, world. Goodnight sweet prince, and choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Joe and I hung out together in the mid-90's in Los Angeles. His acerbic wit made me laugh heartily. Hard to accept that he is gone.

What a great guy and energetic playwright! Always acting in, working, writing or producing something! And I remember one party in particular where he celebrated his mother, who was there at his home, so highly.

A great friend who lit up the room, and we had many wonderful and exciting adventures! I will miss Joe dearly, my friend of 40 + years!

Joe - you were there when I needed you that I will never forget - you were the sweetest man full of energy as I write this I remember us going to see Beauty and the Beast at the Theatre and how happy you were , I see you smiling down and getting ready to produce your next production in heaven xx

He was a very interesting and funny person to around he loved my cousin Lynda they were the best of friends and now they are laughing together again x

Joe and I were a part of many shows together. Every show had casts that became very close and mostly due to Joe and his amazing energy, generosity, love and passion. You will be sorely missed, my friend.

I met Joseph years ago with my friend Lynn, they were very good friends. Im so very very sad today. I miss both my fiends very much.
