Just read about Gerry's passing in The Miamian. Some great memories of Gerry from the Miami U days. I still remember sitting in the back of the classroom, "on the left," in David McClellan's political science course on American foreign policy. My condolences to Gerry's family and friends.

Gerry was like a friend I never expected. When he came to work with our company he was never timid, shy or at a loss of words. I came to be very good friends with this funny man, and so did my family and friends. The Rapparlies quickly dubbed him "The Hawk" because of his insane ability to swoop in on customers and win over their hearts. I have so many fond memories of Gerry and the laughs we shared. He came to several parties at my house and never did he fail to make new friends. ...

Katie and JoEllen - we met only once- at your Mother's wake. Now here we are so unexpectedly crossing paths again as we try to comprehend the loss of "Hawk" as he was so affectionately known at Paper Cargo. Many life long friendships were created there and although we fell out of touch, he never fell out of our thoughts and hearts. His quirky personality, brutal honesty, kindness and sense of humor were always a pleasure to be around. Like most of us at Paper Cargo, he didn't fit into any...

Gerry was in my advisory class in the morning at NTE. We would laugh the whole time! I would watch Gerry play soccer, and he would watch me play basketball. We would see each other when we were in the stands watching each other. The great thing is we were laughing at all the dirty stuff we did in the games. A great man has left this world and will be missed by all!

Just received the word. I'm so sorry. I haven't seen Gerry in many years but have many great childhood memories, playing "bloody murder" in the front yard, kick the can... how we survived the Jarts set, I don't know.
RIP

All you need to do is say his name and all remember him. Now he's watching out for the rest of us. It's been since High School but he always had a smile on his face and THAT is how I will remember him.

I remember Gerry very well as Gerry was down tbe street on Pine.
He was in our high school days a very good golfer and we would tee it up at Skokie Playfield often. Gerry was also and foremost a good friendnz, and highly reliable in this regard.
