Joseph Longo Obituary
Joseph Anthony, 75, of Toms River, formerly of Elmwood Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 21, 2013. Born and raised in Paterson to the late Joseph and Armenia (Avolio) Longo. Joe served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hugh W. Hadley DD-774 and the USS New Jersey. Before retiring he worked in the Plastic Industry as a Plant Manager for 42 years. Joe was a Yankee Baseball and Giant Football fan and also enjoyed Nascar Racing. Surviving are his forever caring wife Betty (Curcio) Longo, brother Frank and wife Pat of Totowa Boro and many nieces and nephews. He was the devoted father to Lori and her husband Michael Sproviero, Louis and his wife Rome, all of Elmwood Park and Scott of Saddle Brook. Joe's greatest pride and joys of his life were his grandchildren. Mike - his "Don't ever forget it I am and always will be #1" with his wife Imma who could always make Poppy smile, Christina- his "Princess Forever", Joey - his namesake with the biggest caring heart, Marc - his sensitive, smiling baseball prodigy and Austin - his Nascar buddy. A Memorial Service will be held to honor Joe's life on Sunday August 25th, 2013 from 1-4 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Funeral Service will be offered at 3:30 PM during the gathering. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Van Dyke Hospice and Palliative Care 99 Rt. 37 West Toms River, NJ 08755. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
