We just heard from Joe's sister Kathryn who lives in Connecticut of Joe" death but knew nothing else. After checking the internet we told her what we found. Kathryn keeps in touch with my wife,Ann,who lived on Bankroft St.and also remembers Joe.Everybody liked Joe. He was an independent and free-spirited individual. Joe Slay, a legend in his own right. Not an evil bone in his body. Was loved by all. I reemember the wonderful times at the "Southern Luncheonette". Always dancing and singing. I had always asked of Joe Slay and I was told he had passed away. This is truly a shock to me as I liked Joe. I was born and raised with him on S. Chadwick St., in S. Phila.
