I have a lot of really funny memories of Joe. He always made me laugh. He became my friend as well as my step father as I got older. I will miss him, we all will..

We just heard from Joe's sister Kathryn who lives in Connecticut of Joe" death but knew nothing else. After checking the internet we told her what we found. Kathryn keeps in touch with my wife,Ann,who lived on Bankroft St.and also remembers Joe.Everybody liked Joe. He was an independent and free-spirited individual. Like Petey Ranoia,we too lived on Chadwick St.only 2 doors away. His mother,Teresa, and my mother were very close friends and knitted together.I wll always remember back in the early 50's when Joe got a red convertible and his father, Tony, rode in the back seat smoking a cigar. They both looked like celebrities. It's about 50 years I haven't seen Joe, but I will always remember him. I hope he didn't suffer. Our condolences to the family. Domenic Tolotta, Plano, Texas.

Joe Slay, a legend in his own right. Not an evil bone in his body. Was loved by all. I reemember the wonderful times at the "Southern Luncheonette". Always dancing and singing. I had always asked of Joe Slay and I was told he had passed away. This is truly a shock to me as I liked Joe. I was born and raised with him on S. Chadwick St., in S. Phila. Although I haven't seen Joe in a while he always was on my mind as to his where abouts. God Bless you Joe and your family. I wish to say "Hello" to Katherine a beautiful girl in all ways. Two friends I have lost in two days. Michael Clerico was the other dear friend.
Your friend and you will be in my prayers always.
