Please accept my condolences upon the death of 'Pepe.' I lived four houses away from the old fire house on Loomis St. in which Engine Co. 28 and Truck 8 were stationed. I was there until I was married in 1958 and before then I got to know dozens of good men who worked from that location. Not the least of them was 'Pepe'whose first assignment was on Truck 8. I was the #1 fire fan there and I knew many fun filled hours in their company.
I remember Joe especially because of his strength...
