my Condolences for your loss. I was looking for a Montooth on the internet and found Joseph. My name is Steve Montooth in Anchorage, Alaska. My family came from Rushville Illinois in the mid 1800s. I know there are Montooths from Findlay, Ohio and from Tennesee. I was inquiring since it seems our Montooth's are slipping away. I hope we may communicate again. stevensm @ak.net.

Joesph Michael Montooth was one of my best friends a father figure and the greatest man i have ever known in my life.
he treated me as his own like he did for many others. he always made me smile weather he was yelling or just talking cause either way he made sure we knew he loved us. there is no man that will ever replace him in my life. and i just want him to know how much i love him. and im sorry i never got to say good bye.

Teri, we just found out about your loss and we were shocked. Charles and I will always remember the good times we had together with you and Joe and your family. Joe was one of the highlights of Charles' football coaching career at Granite. All our love goes out to you and the girls.

Teri, I was so shocked to hear the news about Joe,we all grew up together.I remember playing football with him and Jim in the backyard, or just hanging out at the house after school.Jim was telling me how joe had become a coach of the football team, I've been reading some of the stuff online and it sounds like he was really good at it,and the kids really loved him.I have so many memories of good times with joe and jim, we were just kids....I'm still in shock.....my thoughts and prayers are...

Dear Teri,
Just like anybody that knew Joe and his family, I am shocked and overwhelmed by the news of his death. You and I met June 10, 1985 and after 24 years, you would think I could find the right words to give comfort to you, Alix and Sidney. I do not know who the author of this is but it just popped out of nowhere and it expresses many of the thoughts I am feeling as I think of Joe.

I had the honor of playing for Joe in Snohomish a few years back. To this day I tell people who didn't know him of awesome of a coach and leader Joe Montooth was. It is an honor to have shared some of my early years as an athlete and person with him. He was a huge influence on me on both. He is a huge loss to all that knew him. God bless the Montooth family.
