Not sure what to say?

It's hard to fathom that another year has come and gone since the passing of Joe and Caroline. A few months ago I bought a new truck. I decided to put vanity plates on the vehicle and was contemplating what I wanted them to say. I then remembered that Joe had plates on his truck that read SGT JOE. So I applied to the Registry for the plates and they were available and I received them shortly after. I proudly display those plates as reminder of my service to the PD but also as a tribute to my...

Grampy,

I miss you and Grammy every single day. As I get older I've begun to see qualities in myself that remind me of you. I feel overwhelming pride just knowing it's a beautiful part of you that continues to live in me and I get to share it with the world. Your love, compassion, and humanity.. your legacy. I love you with all of my heart.

Thank you Joe & Sheila every year on this date I read & reread all the cherished memories that people have offered ..a wonderful gift

It's hard to believe another year has passed since I last wrote a message on this forum. Many do not know this but when my son became the K9 officer for the Warren Police Dept. and we picked up his K9 he decided to name the K9 "Murray" in honor of Joe Murray. My son is living in Florida now and working for a Sheriff's Dept.. "Murray" is with him, although he is retired as a K9. Rest in peace Joe and Carolyn you are missed.

Remembering when we used to call Joe Murray "PaPa Smurf" because he was the oldest officer on the department and we used to wear powder blue uniforms at one time. Joe was always full of wit and wisdom and was a great mentor to me on how to be a good leader. One day while my wife and I were at a tag sale we saw a coffee mug that had a picture of PaPa Smurf. We had to buy it for Joe. A few days later he stopped by the station and I met him outside in his car. I presented the mug to him and he...

Thinking of you on the bright sunny day Mr Murray. RIP.

This is for Colleen Connors: Colleen, I'm sorry to hear about your father. I hope we can keep sharing memories and continue to remember the legacy your father and my grandfather left behind. My dad (Brian Murray) asked me to share this with you. I'm sure you've seen it before, but it's always a nice reminder of what incredible men they both were.

Dear Murrays, I was cleaning out my Dads top dresser drawer, were he kept his treasures. I thought this would crack you up. My Dad passed away this month. I have tons of fun memories of your parents visiting our house in Syracuse. You mom was the best and your Dad was really unique. He called my dad regularly. Their friendship was one of the best. Hope you are all well. My husband and I are on the Cape often. (Brewster) I hope to install my dads IWO JIMA license plate at the Chatham Squire. ...

Remembering my good friend, colleague and mentor, Joe Murray on this day of his passing 8 years ago. 8 years have passed but you're remembered daily by so many because of the legacy you left behind. Rest in Peace my friend. Semper Fi !
