I was calling Joe to see if he wanted to have lunch and found that his phone was disconnected. It was only today, through the internet, that I had found he had passed. Joe was such a wonderful, caring, unselfish person. I remembered he talked about helping a friend of his who was dying and did not have anyone.

He was one of the coolest over 80 I know. At 89, a few months before his death, when we met up for lunch, he pulls up in a sports car. You can't get cooler than...
