I am so saddened to hear of Joe´s passing. I met Joe in Fallon, Nevada in 1974, when he was hitchhiking back to the Fallon Naval base and my grandfather picked him up. I was five years old. It was an instant connection. Joe remained my confidant and pen pal, surrounding me with wisdom and smiles for decades.
