The sadness I felt when Lisa, his daughter, called me hasn't left me.

They say we're fortunate to have one maybe two best friends in our lifetime. Well he goes to the head of the class! He was an unconditional friend who always had the time to listen and offer his most insightful advice only he could deliver.

I miss him more than I thought I would, words alone cannot describe the loss I feel knowing he won't meet me again.

Joe died a few days ago. He was one of the best friends I ever had, although I didn't realize it at the time. This photo was taken at Muzzi Field in Bristol, Connecticut on the day of our graduation from High School in 1961. We were both on our way to college, Joe to Holy Cross (source of a major disagreement between him and mez - He was accepted by Yale but decided to go to Holy Cross) and I was on my way to Penn. I would see him summers for the next four years but then I went into the Navy...
