Joseph Smalzer Obituary

Smalzer, Joseph Kane, 43, of Delray Beach, passed away suddenly February 15, 2014. He was born February 18, 1970 in Aurora, Illinois to Birna Gudmundstottir Smalzer and the late Ronald Joseph Smalzer. He had a passion for computers, scuba diving, bike riding and he will be remembered for having a very giving heart and always helping others especially at First Step. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving son, Colin Bjorn Smalzer, mother, Bidda Smalzer, stepfather, Barry Huckins Sr., sisters, Elin (Joel) Menk, Cristina Smalzer, nephew, Tyler Menk, niece, Rachel Menk and many extended family members in Iceland and the United States. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2014, 4:00 - 7:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to payable to Elin Menk, insert in the memo Colin Bjorn Smalzer Education Fund and forward to Elin Menk, c/o Kraeer Funeral Home, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071.
