Joseph Yanak Obituary
Joseph C. Yanak Sr., 87, of Bethel, beloved husband of Yvonne Yanak, passed away peacefully at his home, on Monday, August 13, 2012. Joseph was born in Danbury, son of the late Stephen and Anna Yanak. He graduated from Sacred Heart of Jesus School and attended Danbury High School. He served in the US Army during WWII and Korea and worked for 26 years in the maintenance department of the former Fairfield Hills State Hospital. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Joseph C. Yanak, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY, his daughter Barbara Ridgeway and husband Gary of Bethel and granddaughter Marissa Yanak. He was predeceased by his sisters: Mary Yanak, Josephine Paradise and Stephanie Moran and brothers: Michael and John Yanak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury, on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 46 Stone St., Danbury, CT 06810.
