I am sorry to hear of Mrs. Ferry's passing...She was a wonderful teacher who believed in my potential well before I was able to see it myself. 7th Grade and 1987 was a long time ago...but I remember her as the coolest teacher of science in a difficult Catholic environment at the time. My thoughts are with her family.

During ones journey through education, some are fortunate enough to come across that one teacher that changes the way they see the world. Mrs. Ferry was that teacher for me. She didn't teach by the book but rather by her heart, using her own life lessons and personal experiences to guide us. I will never forget the sparkle in her eye before she would tell us about a story from her childhood or how she always took the time to work with me and my classmates.
May you rest in peace Mrs. Ferry and thank you for everything.

Mrs. Ferry had a gift for making everyone she touched feel special and loved. I volunteered for anything she needed at St.Peter's School as she fostered a true sense of community and responsibility for others. At St. Greg's her passion for teaching and science enhanced many student's interest in careers in the science field including my son. She is a guiding light that remains bright in our hearts

Jo Ferry was such an amazing human being. To think of all the lives she touched with her kind and generous spirit. I have never worked with an administrator who cared so deeply for all her students. As we will all miss her so, I am only comforted to know that God has a special place for her. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, John, and family.

Mrs. Ferry is one of those people that you never forget. She was a wonderful teacher and I can say that I have learned a lot from her. She was always in a cheery mood and had the ability to make anyone smile. I remember when she had stayed after school to help my friend and I with a science project and she was very helpful and we had shared a lot of laughs. She could have said no but that wasn't the kind of person she was. She put everyone's needs first. Mrs. Ferry was one of the sweetest people you could have met and it is very sad to see her leave so soon. We will all miss you Mrs. Ferry, but you will always stay in our hearts. Heaven has gained another angel. Rest in peace Mrs. Ferry.

Every day she came in with a smile that lit up the entire room. She was kind, caring and devoted to her job. I am very fortunate to have had such an inspirational teacher during my educational career. Mrs. Ferry will be missed by many. Mrs. Ferry was an incredible woman and I am blessed to have learned from her for three years. She made learning fun and exciting, and there was never a dull moment in her classroom. Mrs. Ferry was always there for last minute study sessions, and to help me get through my roughest times in junior high. She was a very special person to me and we shared a lot of memories. The lessons she taught me will remain close to my heart forever.

Josephine Ferry was the consummate Catholic educator. She saw right through her students eyes and grasped their hearts. Whenever the name, Saint Peter School, was spoken or heard; her picture sprang instantly into my mind. That picture was, and will always remain, warm, friendly, loving, and compassionate. My heartfelt sadness from her passing is coupled with the sad reality that we have lost a guiding light. May God's peace rest on her family. A saint has left us only to watch over us now.

October 13, 2015

I had the distinct pleasure, honor, and privilege of having Mrs. Ferry as a principal for 8 years (pre-k-6th grade) at St. Peters School. She was the BEST principal. Mrs. Ferry loved each one of her students and encouraged them always. She had a lovely sense of humor and taught me respect. One of her greatest teachings to me that I will cherish and never forget was to "Always be yourself". Thank you Mrs. Ferry for being an inspiring educator. Rest peacefully. My deepest sympathies and prayers are with the family of Mrs. Ferry. You are deeply missed by your St. Peter family.

Mrs. Ferry was a special, caring teacher who shed a bright light on our youngest when he was struggling. She always brought out the best in him and assured us that he would shine when he found his passion of learning again. Never one to criticize, she found that seed of learning in each of her students and brought out the best in them.

May her family find comfort in knowing that she left footprints on the hearts of all who were blessed to have known her.
