To My Sister, To My Cousin

Oh! How your Wings Never touched the Earth as you soared endlessly to your Non-Stop flight to Heaven. Sail, on Sister Joyce.

Effortlessly, you Kissed away are tears.

You didn't want to leave your love ones down here on the Earth, but you had no chose your maker requested your present in Paradise,

God requires your grace because no one could do grace like Joyce Lee Forney.

Woman, you knew how to make a statement from just your present.

Can I get an Amen.

You knew when Joyce Lee Forney was in the Room and that was an understatement.

Can I get an Amen.

Oh! How could you forget the Beautiful Glow that was in those warm brown eyes of Sister Joyce.

Oh! How can we forget that warm laugh that went with the smile that said it's all going to work out, because Joyce Lee Forney always had a plan, either when there wasn't plan.

You never know what you miss until it's gone.

Can I get an Amen.

You were like Raindrops hitting the roof.

You were like a Breath of Sunshine on a Cloudy Day.

You were a Smile on a Smile less Day.

You were like Stars on a clear night.

You were like the last piece of Fried Chicken that Momma maked that we kids used to fight over that was so darn good.

You were like those Brownie that I stole from Granny Essie Forney's Pantry on Euclid and East Avenue behind Perkins Park off Diagonal Rd. That were so good I didn't mind the Butt-Whipping.

You were a Friend when I didn't have a friend in the World.

You were a Mother
You were a Wife
You were a Daughter
You were a Sister
You were a Niece
You were a Cousin

You were a Child of God.

Go on Soul-sister. You earn your reward in Heaven.

Knowing Sister Joyce she's whispering in the Creator Ear, asking him to look after all of us.

Joyce give her all for those who she loved.

I can't put in words how this Beautiful Black Woman touched all of us

So I Say don't be sad be happy for the short time that we had with the Sister.

Because, she was only on loan from God.
Cuz, you will truly be missed.

And how many of us in this room showing are respects. Can say that.

Your loving Cousin, Andre Forney

P.S.

Don't forget to call me from time to time from Heaven.

Call Collect if you have to Joyce, you know I will always accept.

Remember True Love never deads.
I Miss u , Cuz
