Joyce (Kixmiller) Wright

Newburgh, Ind.

Joyce (Kixmiller) Wright, 62, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville. She was born January 30, 1954, in Vincennes, Ind., to Richard and Dorothy Kixmiller.

She worked for All Breed Pet Care for 25 years. She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed horses. Joyce was a member of Berean Bible Church. She was a doting grandma who loved her grandbabies dearly.

Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard C. Kixmiller and Robert A. Kixmiller.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe Wright; daughter, Angela D. Smith (Bobby) of Boonville; son, Andrew D. Wright (Jessica) of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Bo Smith, Lane Smith, Griffin Wright; parents, Richard and Dorothy Kixmiller; brother, Ray Kixmiller (Kim); sister, Alice McCormick; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Jeffery Newnum with burial in Ellis Cemetery. Friends may visit 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to P.A.A.W.S. No-Kill Animal Rescue or American Cancer Society.

So sorry of your loss, words are always hard to come by in situations like this, I always thought a lot of Joyce. Her and Preacher were one of my first success stories and they will never be forgotten. I am so privileged that I got to know Joyce over the last few years and that I was able to see her at the Ranch Rally in October this last year. She was a very beautiful woman inside and out! Joyce, Preacher, and all of her family are in my thoughts and prayers.
