Julia Ferguson Obituary

Julia Lee Ferguson, 90, of Englewood, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. She was born on March 25, 1935, in Washington, D.C., to Ernest Cunningham and Virginia Simpson, both of Clifton Forge, Virginia. Julia graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, D.C., in 1953. She was a longtime member of the Englewood Methodist Church.

Julia was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edward Ferguson; her children, Donna Peyton, Terri Peyton, Kaibni Peyton (Lisa), and Ed Ferguson Jr. (Cynthia); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Emmett Cunningham (Elaine), and her sister, Mary Foraker (Larry).

Julia's smile could light up a room and with her kind heart, she never met a stranger. Her legacy of love, strength, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In accordance with her wishes, the family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
