When I worked in the Executive Offices of the Department of General Services I met Julian, because he was one of the Deputy Directors at that time. His humor was always evident, and he was a kind man. After a couple of years, I moved on to higher positions but never forgot Julian. He always was so supportive of all of us and willing to help. I recall when he married and had his younger children. He loved every one of his kids very much, and also his wife very much. A true gem.

The best friend of many friends. Always a good fellow.

Julian was a friend for over 40 years and one of the finest human beings I ever had the pleasure to know. His love, empathy and compassion was evident from the first time I met him, when we both worked for AT&T.
His maturity, intelligence, creativeness, sense of humor, and fun loving - but calm nature - helped many of his coworkers deal with the stresses of working for a company that was constantly changing, very chaotic and laying off tens of thousands of workers a year.
He was wise beyond his years and a mentor to many, including me. His advice and guidance were always very thoughtful and he helped many people thru some of their worst times.
His friends and business associates always marveled at Julian's optimistic and positive attitude, his outside-the-box thinking and his ability to learn from his mistakes. He did not have a selfish bone in his body and was always happy to make an introduction and help others close a deal.
The thing that always impressed me the most about Julian was his love for his family. His wife Catherine and his six children meant the world to him. He always enjoyed sharing their achievements and what was going on in their lives. He was very proud husband and father.
I will never forget Julian or the lessons he taught me about life and compassion for others. I have lost a great friend and our community has suffered a big loss. Rest in Pease my friend!
My, Adam and Jessica's sincerest condolences to Catherine and family.
