I, along with many others, was designated as Charter Member of the Octofoil Association by Gen Ewell in 1968 shortly after the TET Offensive. After 40+ years I still have the card with his name on it. One last salute to a great soldier.

Gen Ewell was my Division commander during my service in Viet Nam.. had the occasion to speak with him several times.. He always made me feel very proud as he called me "SON" and made me feel like he ment it..

My sincere condolences. A Co 3/47 Inf 1966-67.

I offer my deepest condolences on the passing of a great American leader.

I served with the General at II Field Force, Viet Nam 1969-70. He taught me to be proud of my service to our country during a very turbulent time. The life lessons he imparted, on a then 20 year old, have sustained me to the present day.

As a man of the highest integrity and dedication to duty, General Ewell was a sterling example to all who served with him.

America has lost a wise and...

My sincere condolences, C/3/47 1967.
