I offer my deepest condolences on the passing of a great American leader.
I served with the General at II Field Force, Viet Nam 1969-70. He taught me to be proud of my service to our country during a very turbulent time. The life lessons he imparted, on a then 20 year old, have sustained me to the present day.
As a man of the highest integrity and dedication to duty, General Ewell was a sterling example to all who served with him.
America has lost a wise and compassionate leader whose boots will not easily be filled. Sir, I salute you one last time.
