Not sure what to say?

Rick, this message is long overdue, but I wanted to reach out to you after your loss of Vaughan. We have met before, many years ago, possibly when Vaughan was in "A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Coliseum." :) My mom, Corky, was a lifelong friend of Vaughan's, and she used to regale me with Vaughan stories from their childhood and teen years. My mom passed away shortly before Vaughan did, in January of 2024. I know that sometime during 2023, she had made phone contact with you and...

Wonderful memories of Mr Gary at JFK high school

I know that this is months after Vaughan´s death, but I feel compelled to write something in honor of this dear person. For the past few weeks, I´ve been thinking about people who I worked with in the past. I googled his name and saw the news of his death. I met Vaughan in the 1980´s when we worked at United Way in Richmond. He was a staff person and later became the director of RSVP (the Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in the Community Resource Division. I was the director of I&R (the...

I was a student at JFK, in the first 'official' graduating class, 1967. Mr. Gary was delighted when he found that I worked part-time at Shady Grove Music Fair theater in the round. It was as if we were kindred spirits. I have thought of him so fondly over the years. Kindest man.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 20 at 9400 Huegenot Road Or Ami Temple at 2 pm. Please let me know if you want to come. Rick Smith 804-270-1146

Rick, I know you will Vaughan, but one day you will be reunited. Fondly, Butch / Peg

I had Mr. Gary for one class at John F. Kennedy High School. I still remember that class and his enthusiasm. Thanks Mr. Gary.

I remember his classes at the Shephard Center and dicussions on movies and the resulting discussions of the films he shared at this class. He was a kind and caring man and just an overall nice person. God bless!

I remember Mr. Gary who taught English class and who directed the musical every year. He gave 110% to teaching and directing. He was one of my favorite teachers. Memory eternal and peace to his family and friends.
