Our condolences to Betsy and the Stein family. Julian was an inspiration to us all. He will be missed.

Unique and very kind. Caught up with him after some 40 years or so, and were planning to have lunch. Guess not.

Julian was a gentleman and an inspiration for two generations of family and friends. We're grateful to have known him and we will miss him. The mountains and lakes of Maine will forever hold his spirit.

Sending positive thoughts to Betsy and all the Steins at this sad time. I feel privileged to have known Julian and spent time with him in his natural habitats -- Rangeley, Paris, London. I can only hope some of his magic rubbed off on me. Love to you all!

To all of Julian's loved ones. I truly appreciated knowing Julian. He was so full of life, and his spirit of adventure was contagious. If you had the opportunity to read his book you know what an extrordinary amount of "living" he piled into those 92 odd years. All hail, Julian! And deepest sympathy to those whose lives he enriched.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

So glad to have made Julian's acquaintance. He was truly a man for all seasons. He was an inspiration to all. God bless and welcome him.
