June was diagnosed with a brain tumour on November 6, 2012, she passed away peacefully at Chateau Gardens in Lancaster. Survived by her husband Brad, children: Bonnie Fisher (Bill), Jodie Taylor (Gary Baker) and Brad Jr., grandchildren: Max, Heidi, Hannah, Patrick, Charlie and Julia, father Alexander and sister Anne McNicholl (John). Predeceased by her mother Violet Stevens and stepfather Wellesley Stevens. June worked at Churchill Smith and Sutherland (insurance brokers) after graduating from Westmount High on the island of Montreal until Bonnie was born and then was a stay-at- home mom until Brad Jr. started school. June went back to work at Eaton's (Montreal West Island), Great Lakes Credit Union (Thunder Bay), Canada Trust (Edmonton), TD Canada Trust (Westmount and Roxboro) and Unity Credit Union, (now Kawartha in Cornwall). June had a massive green thumb that brought life and colour to everything around her. She was an avid horticulturalist with a passion for children, plants and all living things. June also enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, entertaining and travelling. Throughout her life she was an active community volunteer wherever she lived. June's longstanding request is that there be no funeral or memorial service. There will however be a celebration of life at a later date.
