Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to just learn of Justin's passing. I was listening to the "Be The Change" JMU podcast just now and my heart dropped. I knew Justin during my time at JMU, especially during May and Summer Sessions (not a lot of studying was done :-)). I never saw Justin without a smile on his face, always greeting his friends with a warm embrace or pat on the back. He encouraged me to come play rugby, a sport that contributed to his mettle (I lasted one practice). But we always ran into...

Thought of Justin two days ago. It was his unrestrained joy in living that will forever be a good example to the rest of us. Absolutely confident that he is "where the streets are guarded by United States Marines". S/F

He was and is a good example to us all - the Happy Warrior. S/F Col Robert Maguire

A set a tremendous example by the life he lived.

I still think of Justin. To my mind he will always be "the happy warrior". In northern European pre-Christian culture, a person achieved immortality by being remembered long after their death. Dahlia, your Justin will always be remembered.

Rudi and Judi, Richard talk a lot about Justin. So sorry to read about his passing.

Justin - never thought of you as wounded warrior - rather just the warrior I always wanted to be. Thank you for your good example. Will see you where the streets are guarded by Marines. S/F Robert Maguire

I just learned of Justin's passing, and am extremely heartbroken over this unfortunate news. One thing that we all knew about Justin was he was a courageous fighter and strong advocate of veteran and family issues. I'm saddened that we lost such a wonderful and engaging patriot. My sincere condolences to the family and friends. I share in grieving over his passing.
