Not sure what to say?

Jake, I wanted to tell you how proud you would be right now of Zen-Jitsu. Team ZJ has 3 fighters heading to Atlanta tonight to fight this friday in your honor. As you always said win or lose, just putting yourself out there is a huge accomplishment. Please be there with them and keep them safe. You will be loved and missed always! Your, Sange

Sandra, It has taken me this long to try to articulate my words of sorrow. I still can't believe the news of Jakes' passing. When Jake worked at Flagler Construction he used to come by our sandwich shop (Shane's) to get lunch. His smile always lit up the place. He brought with him such positive energy. We were so happy to hear what was going on in his life. He shared with us the news of your marriage and then the news of Von. He enjoyed sharing his pictures with us. He just lit up...

Sandra, deepest regrets. I just heard today of Jake's passing. I had been leaving him messages because we were all suppose to go out again while I was on vacation in St. Augustine. That was the last discussion we had on Friday, 6/5. I left you and Von a message at home, if I can do anything, just let me know.

Sandra,

I was shocked when I heard of Jake's passing. Although I only met Jake once, I still am deeply saddened for your loss. My family and I will pray for you and Von in these difficult times. Put your trust in Jesus and he will lead you and comfort you. If we can ever be of assistance , please let us know.

Justin and I were good friends thru elementary and middle school. As children, we skateboarded, surfed, played paddle tennis, and explored most of St Augustine. Justin was always inventing or modifying something. He taught me how to play paddle tennis so we could enter the upcoming doubles tournanment. I didn't have a paddle so he took on of his parents old ones and modified it with more air holes and a new grip. We came in second. One summer he built an underwater breathing device out...

Dear Family Members,

I met Jake in class at the University of Florida and like so many people quickly and easily became his friend. He invited me to join Kappa Alpha and became my big brother. We had many great times cheering for the Gators in the Swamp, lifting weights at the Rec Center, going out in Gainesville, tubing the Itchetucknee River, or just hanging out in his room. Where ever we went someone knew Jake and went out of their way to say “hi.” He greeted everyone with...

When I think of Jake, I will always have the fondest memories that spread a smile across my face, a mile wide, and then some. I had the pleasure of knowing Jake all through high school and also being roomates with him in Gainesville at UF. He was one of the funniest people I've ever known and as a roomate he always made me feel safe. Not only did he make us laugh to no end, but he made me, Tina Lewis (of SAHS), Angela & Odilie feel so safe and protected in G-ville. He was a charistmatic...

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You have my heart felt sympathy.

My deepest sympathy and prayers go to Jake's family and especially his son. I am a father of 2 little ones (Justin-9yrs and Ashley-7yrs old), therefore I know the joy Jake had in being a father and the struggles of being a good father. I worked with Jake at Flagler CE, and will miss his passion for equipment sales. May God bless your family and keep watch over Von.
