Karen Lisheid Obituary

LISHEID (WEARS) Karen Lisheid, 71, of Columbus, died April 9, 2012 at home with family after a brief illness. She was born April 20, 1940 in Long Island, NY to Leland Haig Wears and Joan Musselman Wears, who predeceased her. Survived by her son, Erik J. Lisheid, Columbus; step-daughter, Deborah Lisheid, Columbus; step-sons, Ed (Laura Grant) Lisheid of Ferndale, CA, and Greg Lisheid of Columbus; brother, Ken A. (Leslie) Wears of Plain City; nephews, Ty L. Wears of Scottsdale, AZ and Grey S. Wears (Angie Simpson) of North Hollywood, CA; step-granddaughter, Tawny (Ben) Giles and their children, Haylee and Morgan of Cincinnati; step-grandsons, Joshua and Jason of Columbus; cousin, Jim Wears and family and several Dauksch cousins. Karen graduated from Upper Arlington HS and retired from Chapter 13. She was active in the Grandview senior citizens exercise classes, was an avid reader, loved animals, and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Family wishes to thank the caring staff of HomeReach Hospice and Comfort Keepers. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229 or Pilot Dogs, 625 W. Town St., Columbus, OH 43215.
