We were saddend to learn of the death of Karen whom we met and became friends with in 1981 when we emigrated from Glasgow, Scotland to Louisville, Kentucky. Our deepest sympathy goes out to her family at this time.

I'm sending my deepest sympathy to Karen's family and friends and colleagues. Karen was a funny, creative, lovely woman with a great sense of style and a wry wit. I enjoyed working with her, even, or possibly especially, when we disagreed. She was occasionally opinionated and feisty, but never, ever boring. The things I admired most about her were her great compassion for animals and her sincere appreciation of the simplicity of beauty.
I miss her.
