Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home - Evendale/Blue Ash Obituary

Katharine Pauline (Odon) Pellett, 93, of the Otterbein SeniorLife Community in Lebanon, died Monday, October 25, 2021.  She was born May 4, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Rev. Louis O. and Dorothy (Naujoks) Odon.  She attended Otterbein College.  Katharine married Rev. C. Edwin Pellett on September 28, 1951, in the Southern Hills EUB Church in what is now Kettering.   Katharine was a mother of four, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of eight.  Katharine and Ed recently celebrated their 70th anniversary with their children and their families.  She was a homemaker who loved trying new recipes, and enjoyed gardening, canning, crafting, and collecting a wide variety of shells, stones, and other interesting objects.

In addition to her family, there were so many activities and leadership roles related to Katharine’s church-linked volunteering, it would take pages to enumerate.  In general, she was deeply committed to local, regional, national and worldwide community service.  She held offices in the former EUB Church, and after the merger that created the United Methodist Church, with the West Ohio Conference, North Central Jurisdiction, General Board of Global Ministries, and United Methodist Women.

A beautiful life, well-lived.

A Memorial Gathering in Katharine’s honor will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 9:30am until the time of Memorial Service at 11:00am, both at Otterbein Community United Methodist Church (located inside the Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community), 585 N State Route 741, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in honor of Katharine may be made to any of the following:

What a beautiful lady serving God is so many ways! Well done, good & faithful servant! Katharine (Mrs. Pellett) as i knew her while serving on the EUB district YF council was instrumental in my attending Indiana Central College (now UIndy) after my high school graduation! A messenger from God on my life’s journey& I listened! I am forever grateful for her love, care, and mentoring. Please know my love and sympathy as I celebrate her well-lived ministry for so many years! Peace & Blessings!

Death is the loss of a life and not of the relationship, memories and love you shared, that lasts forever. Our deepest sympathies.

Dear Ed and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you as you say farewell to Katharine. She was a dear lady and someone I always enjoyed being around at choir concerts. Martha Gross
