Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother. I did not know her, but she and her family were friends, and related to, my mother, Anastasia Malamas Schwarz, and her family. Going through family photos, I did find several from 1948 when the Johnson family was visiting the Malamas' in Buffalo. I have attempted to identify people. If I am mistaken, please let me know. Katie, George and their 3 sons lived across the street from us in Wlliamsville. Our families celebrated many happy occasions together. Katie had a great sense of humor. Two of the boys managed to get to a bottle of baby powder while she was folding laundry. They coated themselves and the family room. She dutifully photographed her pre school octogenarians because what else could you do but laugh? The boys managed to collect a typical childhood quota of scrapes, cuts and bruises, but also...
