Duggan Dolan Mortuary - Butte Obituary

Katherine was born in Fresno county, California to Fr. Russell and Susan Radoicich, the third in a family of four children. She was baptized at St. Peter the Apostle Orthodox Christian Church. At three years old she moved with her family to Butte, Montana where she attended Whittier and Hillcrest Elementary, East Middle and graduated in three years with honors from Butte High School. She was on the robotics team, Upward Bound, and involved in The Orphan Girl Children's Theatre as well as several types of dance. She sang in the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church choir and often traveled with her dad (Fr. Russell) and sisters to many church services throughout Montana. She was in the G.E.M.S (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) program and later used those skills in college. She enjoyed hobbies of videography & photography, and published YouTube videos (Katherine Rad) showing her love of sewing costumes and clothes. She took pilot lessons, liked ice skating, reading, writing, swimming, playing in the water, (always the first one in and last one out) camping and hiking with her family and playing D&D games with friends.

She moved to Houston, Texas for a year where she enjoyed the warmer weather, worked, took trapeze lessons and liked to longboard. She traveled to London and then moved to Auckland, New Zealand where she was working in a skateboard shop. There, she experienced living in a different country and fell in love. She continued education at Unitec in electrical engineering. She was home last summer to visit and was a bridesmaid in her sister's wedding.

Katherine championed through difficult health conditions, including shaky hands due to essential tremors, they never inhibited her from enjoying the things she loved.  She had a beautiful voice and was always singing and dancing around the house. She is truly missed.  Katherine will be fondly remembered for her bright smile, compassion, love for others, and fearless authenticity.

She is survived by her parents, Fr.Russell  and Susan Radoicich, siblings Paul, Vesna & (Scotty) Mizelle and Rebecca. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Kumovi. She joins in eternity her Grandparents, Vernon and Frances Radoicich, Ian and Helen McMillan, as well as her cousin Ian and Uncles Ron & Randy.

Friends may call on Monday, October 28, 2024, after 5:00 PM in the Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Church, located at 2100 Continental Drive.  Prayer Service will be recited at 6:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 29. 2024, at 11:00 am. It is with a heavy heart that we send our condolences for Katherine’s passing. We knew her best as a GEM and will treasure our time with her and Rebecca during those years. From our weekly science meetings to summer camp, Katherine was the epitome of what we had envisioned for the GEMS program. She was such a delight to be with and her sense of humor was perfection. Along with her many talents—we often think of her cup stacking talent at camp—her intellect and ability to reason out any...

Katherine was a great student, bright, energetic and diligent. Katherine was not afraid to ask questions and enquire and enquiry is one of the attributes of a great student. Often one picks a student to focus on when speaking in class, that student needs to be engaged and focused and Katherine was of those students.

katherine was a very special person. i remember having excel and business with her in school and she would light up the whole room with her laugh. im glad i was able to know her and experience her talent in the theatre she was always there with a smile and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. she impacted me in so many ways and Im sure she inspired so many of the young people at the theatre. my first performance at the orphan girl was with katherine we sang a “anything you can do” from...
