My dearest "little peanut" Valerie,
I am so sad to hear about what happened. Your mom is a great lady. She loves you so much. I am so glad to be a part of your life for the time I was your nanny and now your friend. I consider you one of my own. Even though I now live far away, I think of you often. Please hug your grandpa for me. I love you, peanut. And yes, you will always be my peanut!

I was terribly saddened to learn of Kate's untimely death and I extend sincere sympathies to Valerie, to other members of Kate's family and to her friends.

To the Family of Professor Heidt,

I was a student of Professor Heidt this past spring semester. Although I only knew her for a few months, she made a tremendous impact on my life. Professor Heidt was a genuinely warm-hearted person, who welcomed me into her home to give her lessons. She gave me challenging assignments, offered me positive feedback on my work, and helped me achieve my full potential.
