Not sure what to say?

I am saddened by her passing. She was my professor at UMSL from 1989 to 1991. She was very inspirational to me. She had published a book called "Talking About Books." I bought a copy and had her sign it. Inside the cover, she wrote that someday I would be Dr. ----. When I read it, was taken aback by it. I never thought I would get a doctoral degree, let alone a master's. Yet, I did graduate Summa Cum Laude from UMSL. Her words of motivation always stayed with me. She was the first scholar to...

I collaborated with Kathryn on NCTE projects and engaged with her at CELT retreats. I will always remember Kathryn's warmth and insightful contributions. Rest in Peace, Kathryn.

I will always remember Cassie from the Freddie Miller conference in Boulder, CO and her group´s performance of "Freddie Miller´s in Trouble Again" with guitar accompaniment.

Kathryn and I have been friends since we were 2 and 4 years old. She was 'the big girl's and I always admired her. Our parents were best friends and Kathryn and I were in charge whe The Mom's would go shopping and leave the 6 of us with The Dads. I don't think the dads even knew they were gone. Kathryn and I remained friends for all these years. Mom and I cannot believe she's gone. Rest in Peace my long-time friend.

Dr. Pierce was my daughter´s multi-age teacher at Glenridge Elementary. The love she had for her was visible in every grade she served my daughter. My deepest condolences to her mother, daughters, sons in love, grandchildren, & family. Sending more grace than you need right now. Dr. Rona Robinson-Hill

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Dr. Pierce was my multiage teacher at Glenridge, and she meant so much to me. The bond she created in her classroom was special-every student felt her love the moment they walked through the door. I will always be grateful for the care, warmth, and presence she shared with us. Thank you for allowing us to be part of her life and legacy.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
