Keith at Classic Billiards

I am so sorry for the loss of Keith. I admired him a great deal. I first met him around ten years ago in the men's locker room at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael. We talked and became friendly. Our first shared interest was the Italian Street Painting Festival. Later, we discovered a shared love of pocket billiards, and we played together several times at Classic Billiards in San Rafael, until I was no longer able to play. I listen to Mr. Lockhart for many years on KKHI and missed him when he was no longer on the air. Loved his calm voice and dry sense of humor.

I will miss the long talks we had. Watching your garden change with the seasons, while you nudged it into something you were proud of. Mostly, though, I'll miss the simple, everyday things: hearing the sound of the espresso machine warming up while you chopped fruit on the worn, wooden cutting board. Working on the daily crossword or word puzzle together, asking me for "help" on the easy ones. Your booming voice greeting me with an enthusiastic "Hi Laura!" at the airport, and everyone turning...
