I went to grad school at UMSL with Ken back in the '80s, and enjoyed a friendship with this brilliant, funny and creative soul. While we rarely saw each other, we kept in touch over the years and my family always enjoyed his thoughtful and witty Christmas cards and Facebook posts. He was as dear to my wife as he was to me, and I'm so sorry we never got together because there always seemed to be so little time in the moment, and we always thought there'd be more time in the future.
