KENNETH KELTNER Obituary

KENNETH KELTNER Kenneth "Ken" Keltner, 87, passed away peacefully July 25, 2016, at home, in Laguna Beach, Calif. He was born March 3, 1929, in Rockford, Ill. Ken was a very proud man known for his love of family, strong and enduring friendships and exceptional generosity. He was known for his acts of kindness which were never in search of gratitude. In 1954, Ken relocated his family from Rockford, to Las Vegas, becoming a 62-year resident. Ken was a sharp businessman, who when growing up would never pass on what appeared to others as an odd job. This opportunistic thinking carried him through life where he would become a founding partner of the CPA firm Keltner, Milam and Johnson. Ken was also recognized as a talented commercial property developer who significantly contributed to the growth of the Las Vegas valley. Ken cherished socializing with others, whether it was over a round of golf, attending a dinner event, traveling, or showboating on his water-skis at Lake Mead. He displayed an endless affection towards his dogs. Ken was a perfectionist who was an avid automobile enthusiast. But above all, Ken was passionate about spending time with his close friends and family, especially his wife, of 41 years, Judi. Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Mae; father, Harold; and son, Kerry. Ken is survived by his wife, Judi; daughter, Kricket (Marleau); grandchildren, Kenny (Diana), Kristen (Christine), Krystal, Laura (Mike) and Eric; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Hudson, Gunnar and Kaden. Memorial service to celebrate the life of Ken will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Our Lady of Lourdes Alumni Chapel at Bishop Gorman High School, 5959 S. Hualapai Way, Las Vegas, NV 89148. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities, Three Square Food Bank or to a charity of your choice in honor of Kenneth Keltner.

I was a receptionist at Conway, Stuart & Woodbury 17yrs ago, and Mr. Keltner held an office within the building. He was always so happy and friendly, and was one of my very favorite faces to see come in the door.

One day he saw me scouring through the classified ads, as I was looking for a siamese cat, and he inquired as to what I was up to. A few days later, he asked if I had gotten the cat and a little discouraged, I said that I had not, as purebred siamese are very expensive, and he asked the cost and went to his office. At the end of the day, he told me to have a wonderful day & left an envelope on my desk... I figured it was something to be mailed, and as he walked out the door, I picked it up & saw my name written upon it. Opening the envelope, there was a letter from him, telling me to get the cat that I wanted, along with the money to purchase my purebred siamese kitten; which I got the next day.

It was his sweet smile and his generous & loving heart, that I have thought of and remembered to this day, and will never ever forget.

Amazing memories of him will live on forever.

Dearest Aunt Judy and Family,
We have lost the most incredible man.
Not only did he have a brilliant mind, he had a heart of Gold. In a world that is so hard he was a man of love, integrity and compassion.
He never asked anything in return; He just gave his heart.
My prayers that God lifts you up and holds you close. You will most surely see him in Heaven some day.
Thank you my dear Uncle For all you have done for my family for and I. Rest in the arms of the Angels.

Aunt Judy and Family,

I was very sorry to hear of Uncle Ken's passing
He truly embodied all the qualities of a man that accomplished an incredible amount in his life, but most of all it was his loving heart and example that will be his lasting legacy in every person he touched. His caring nature will continue in his family and friends. In that way, he will Always be with us. Aunt Judy was the perfect example of a caring and devoted wife to a hard working and loving husband. Thier kindness played a crucial hand in my education and why I am successful today. Rest in peace and God Bless his close loved ones.

Judi and family,

My heartfelt condolences to you all. Ken was such a good friend to my dad and one of my favorite memories was when we were at the beach and the kitchen door at my dads was open and Ken came in yelling HI,IS BOBBY HOME? And my dad yelling back "OH LOOK ITS KENNY!, they were always so fun with each other, and when my dad could not go out anymore, Ken would always bring him a sticky bun (I think it was both their favorites). Please know you are all in my thoughts and Prayers.
