Bedford Funeral Home - Bedford Obituary

Kevin M. McQuaid, of Manchester-by-the-Sea, died in the early morning of June 10, 2023, after a long, valiant battle against cancer. His wife and daughter were by his side.

Kevin was born to John and Mary McQuaid on January 16, 1945, in Cambridge, MA, and raised in Bedford, MA.

Kevin married his wife, Linda, née Zilonis, in 1978. Kevin was the second-generation owner of Anderson & McQuaid in Cambridge, MA, where he had worked for six decades, including fifty years alongside Linda. He was proud of his business, customers, and above all his employees.

He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, and the highs and lows of Boston sports.

Kevin is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Kate; sister Sheila Torigian, brother Paul McQuaid, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Brian and John.

Visitation will be held from the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd, Bedford on Thursday, June 15th, from 3:00-6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via jimmyfund.org/gift.

Muskie We first met @ Worcester Polytechnic Institute on September 15, 1963 the first day of College & you were the first student I met. Our respect for each other, our connection to each other & our 60 year friendship has only increased exponentially!!! Kevin you have brought so many wonderful memories to everyone you encountered in your life and you do not even know that because you are so special!!!!!!! See you again soon brother!! Love always "Wildcat" William N. Rogers II

Linda and Kate, We are sad to hear about the Kevin's passing. He gave my husband Mike his first real job. The knowledge and work ethic that he obtained from Kevin and working at Anderson McQuaid, allowed us to marry, raise our family and run our own successful business and we are grateful. Mike still talks fondly of his days at Anderson McQuaid. Kevin was a great man and will be missed. Your family is in our thoughts at this difficult time. Mike and Zoe Vincent

My condolences to his wife LINDA and daughter and family I have no words to express how sorry I am. I still have the consolation of having met him, he was and will be a good boss THE LORD GOD HAVE YOU IN HIS GLORY..

So sorry to hear about Kevin. He will certainly be missed. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

RIP Kevin , a good friend growing up in a great Town- Bedford. All going to school together ..

You were Ken Jackson’s best friend from long long ago. My friend too. I loved to hear you two reminisce and hear that ornery laugh from you.
I pray your reunion has been a joy filled one in Heaven.
You will be missed here though greatly.
