Kim Mortensen Obituary
Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away December 15, 2015 in Mona Utah. Kim was born August 7, 1935 to Hyde F. Mortensen and Hazel Taggart. He was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He went to School in Salt Lake City and Milford. He later joined the Navy and served aboard two ships in the Korean War.
Kim met Jaqueline Allen in 1979. They soon fell in love and became engaged. They moved from Magna to Clover, Utah. When he retired from Tooele Army Depot they moved to Mona, Utah. They married November 23, 2009 in Provo Utah. As snowbirds, they spend winters in Overton, Nevada. Kim has a wonderful voice and played fiddle in the band, Rhythm Rangers at the Moapa Valley Senior Center.
Survived by wife; Jacqueline, sisters; Ladawn Schubach and Rolleene Folsom step children; Pam and Jeff (Jody); grandchildren; Kasie, Trish, Ryan, Melissa, Ashley, Stephanie, Stacey and Zane; and five great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his stepson; Steven, mother and father and brother; Craig.
We find comfort in knowing he's entertaining the angels with his fiddle and amazing voice.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
