Not sure what to say?

I only knew Wayne casually back in the mid 1980's in Houston. He just happened to be my doctor in a health insurance group. He prescribed some effective medicine for my ankle, which had developed arthritis from ballet. I saw him at the Downtown Y as well. Never forgot him. At 64, I am experiencing my first mutual love with another man, 63. I can't imagine the emotional pain of losing someone you profoundly love. You are not alone. We share your pain. May you find solace and peace...

Goodbye, my friend, colleague and teacher. My eternal gratitude for allowing me to be part of your tx.

I miss you everyday and will love you always.

Wayne and I met in medical school and became best of friends studying late night for exams and bemoaning the rigors of medicine.
Over the years we travelled many places together. Drove a VW through Mexico, bicycled the streets of Paris in the early morning hours, witnessed the wildebeest migration in Kenya, marveled at the Aurora Borealis in Iceland…
He came out for Thanksgiving with my family one year and never left. He became a brother to my three sisters and I and my Mom...

Wayne was such a wonderful man. He was a calming presence, and I absolutely loved teaching Zoom Sunday School with him during the pandemic. I feel very lucky that I got to know him, even just a little bit. My heart goes out to Rev. Chris and the First UU family. Sending love to all.

Wayne was a kind caring person who served his life helping others. He loved the theater. One of his favorite things to do was go to NYC and see a few Broadway Shows each year. He loved his dogs and he LOVED Chris so much. He will be missed!

Wayne was a steward fighting to care for HIV patients in the darkest days being an HIV advocate in his soft voice. When I came to Houston in 2003 from California as a fellow HIV provider, he accepted me without question and helped to foster the ability to care for sick clients and became a friend as well as a colleague. Rest easy my friend, I will miss you!
