Preceded in death by grandparents; and parents, Gean and Norma Lou Poole. Survived by husband, John T. Novak; son and daughter-in-law, Chip and Carolyn Erickson; granddaughter, Eden Erickson; brother, Bill Poole of Fremont; sister and brother-in-law, Shelly and Bradley Pfeiffer of Ashland; niece, Leslie Ruch and her family, Dennis and Marissa Ruch and Chase Kruse; nephew, Blake Mollak and his family, Kelly and Taryn.
VISITATION: Wednesday, December 28, 5-7pm. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, December 29 at 10:30am with Interment to follow. All services at Westlawn-Hillcrest. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Nebraska Humane Society.

Kris and I became friends in 1964. It was a friendship that lasted for the remainder of her life. When we were in our 20s, and I was no longer in Omaha, we wrote long letters to one another. This continued into the age of email. She remained my moral compass, the person with whom I could share all my thoughts. As Kris told me in 2021, she always knew how I thought. My love and admiration for Kris never diminished, and never will. My condolences to Kris´s family. Sleep peacefully, Kris.

My heart goes out to Kris' family. Kris was my neighbor and best friend from 3rd grade all the way through high school. We continued to stay in touch over the past 50+ years - like time standing still. In our youth, we shared our hopes and dreams, teen angst, boy talk; and later in life husband and children stories. She was very proud of her son and delighted with her first grandchild. I will miss her and thankfully have so many great memories. I still hear our favorite songs from our youth and remember what they meant to us way back then. Rest in peace my dear friend - you've earned it.
