Krystal Martina Obituary

MARTINA Krystal Lynn Martina departed this life on Monday, September 22, 2008 in Tulsa, OK. Krystal was thirteen years old and currently attending Edison Middle School. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Tulsa, OK for the past 3 years. Hurricane Katrina displaced her and her immediate family, but her heart remained in New Orleans. A beautiful bright light of a child, blessed with a kind heart, a quick smile and a witty personality that was unforgettable, Krystal was strong and brave beyond her years. She saw clearly yet loved freely. She was a champion for all who were young or weak, children or animals; she cared for them in whatever way she could and for as long as she could. She was a born caregiver and intended to become a pediatric nurse. Krystal Lynn was loved by many but most fiercely by her Maw-Maw Sandy whom we lost four years ago. In God's arms they are together again. Survived by her mother Christina Joseph, stepfather James Joseph Jr., brothers Khial Forges Jr., Joshua Martina, James Joseph III, and sister Jasmine Joseph. Also survived by her Paw-Paw Robert Condon, loving aunts Toni Martina and Melissa Condon, cousins Courtney Reeves and David Hebert IV and a large extended family that included her Aunt Claudette Hymel-Grilletta and uncle Xavier Grilletta, Jr. Krystal was preceded in death by her grandparents Sandy Condon and Edward Martina. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment in St. Louis Cemetery #3. Please visit and sign the family guestbook at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.

Krystal Martina, There isn't a day that goes by were I don't think of you. I miss you so much. We were really good friends. I remember the times where we'd play games through our windows, and how you would organize my snack drawer when you we upset. I wish you wouldn't have left us. We had good times together. I'm never going to forget you. i love and miss you so much.

Hey Little Diva, I miss you more then words can express, it's still hard to even accept that it's true. I am trying to accept that things turn out just as they are supposed to but I'm not there yet. Your leaving has left a tear in the universe for me and now everything is measured as "before" or "after" the day I got that call. You were a part of our life for so long and for so many family occassions. Those birthdays and holidays are so much less without you. I do remember all the fun and laughter we shared, and the light you brought into so many people's lives.
I am so glad to see that people who loved you have been writing in this book-it somehow makes me feel closer to you. I hope your friends keep writing. Love you, miss you, Aunt Claude
