Kurt Simon

My name is Jim Thomas. I live now in McAllen,tx. I have known Kurt all of my life. The Simons helped my parents thru the depression and been friends all of their lives.I went to work when they opened their new warehouse. In 1968,I moved to Texas,but stayed in contack with them for many years later. I am sorry to hear about Kurt on his passing.Every time I come to town He was always on my mind. Jim Thomas

I cannot imagine what the kingdom of heaven must have in store for you Reb Simon. Not so much for the works you have done in your lifetime but for the humility and zest for all life you exhibited in bestowing your wisdom and generosity upon all whom you have touched. I did not get to meet you until a few years ago but that short meeting left me with no doubt that I had been given the privilege of meeting one of the greatest and most humble people in my lifetime. I am married to one of Kurt's great nephews, and was lucky to get to know him well over the past 13 years. Uncle Kurt more like a grandfather than an uncle to us both, and we will miss this funny, gentle, and kind man terribly. On a personal note, I am forever thankful that he was able to bring his sister and parents over from Germany; my husband and our two children would not be here today without that accomplishment.
