Shields was just starting out his life and it's a tragedy that his path in it was cut so short. I remember him putting in the extra time working in my classroom everyday so he could impress Ms. Fitch. He didn't have to come and work with me on advanced math - he did it because he wanted to show others' that he could (and, by extension, they could) master difficult concepts. He was a leader by nature and enjoyed working with and assisting younger kids with their lessons. Words cannot...
