Lamar Wesley "Yock" Stroupe

I am just now learning of Lamar's passing. I am assuming be knew me all of my life. One he had the paint store I saw a lot of Lamar. Always made we laugh over something. I would ask Betty Houser about Lamar since they were both at Morningside. I know the family will miss his humor. In today's world we need more humor.

I worked at Morningside of Gastonia while Lamar lived there. He was the sweetest man. He always had a smile on his face and he would always ask how you were doing. Lamar loved to go sit outside in the courtyard. I liked to sit outside with him while I took my breaks during the day. He would tell me stories about things or tell me what has been going on at the facility. He loved to talk to his daughters, he always wanted me to help him dial the phone at night so he could get a hold of them. I...

I am so sad to hear of Lamar's passing. Enjoyed doing business and his friendship for many years. Praying God's comfort for you as you grieve the loss of your father.
