LaNeva M. Birkel

I am deeply saddened to learn of LaNeva's passing. I pray she and mom (Lavona Mader Bahnks) are together again. LaNeva was an incredibly kind and loving friend to my mom and our family. She was truly selfless in her neverending role as my mom's "hearing helper". They had a special bond. LaNeva turned a blind eye to the fact that mom was deaf. She helped mom at school - making sure she knew what the teacher said when turning her back, while still talking and writing on the blackboard. She...
