Larry Edwin Aker

LARRY EDWIN AKER Larry passed away at his home in Beaumont, California, October 1, 2012. He was born September 16, 1940 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Emery and Florence Aker. Larry had been a resident of the Beaumont area for 50 years. He graduated from Fontana High School and worked as a Grade Checker, Foreman, and Project Coordinator. He retired from the Operating Engineers Local 12. Larry also served in the U. S. Navy for 4 years on a Destroyer. Larry and Carole had just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Larry was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Palo Verde Rod and Gun Club, Saints Alive Sunday School Class and Fellowship Masonic Lodge #668. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts and was his grandson's baseball coach. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Larry is survived by his wife, Carole; daughter, Colleen Hayden of Oklahoma; son, Keith Aker of Phelan, California; sister, Myra Sherwin of Oregon; and brothers, Brad Aker of Kentucky and Tracey Aker of Utah. He is also survived by five grand-children, Tyler, Nicolas, Caleb, Klara and Sammy. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth and his sister, Cindy Mills Aker. Visitation: Wednesday, October 3, 2012, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Funeral service Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 10:00 AM, both at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Avenue, Beaumont, California.
