Larry was a wonderful man and a great friend of my brother-in-law, Jesse Sommer. He later became a friend of mine because of his gracious generosity. The intensive domestic study-abroad program for BFA and MA dance students I directed, FSU in NYC, met weekly in the conference room of the Mertz Gilmore Foundation for their history and theory class; plus, MGF hosted some students as interns so they could learn the in-the-trenches work of running a successful Foundation. An extraordinary individual Larry is a master of helping others. Having a positive attitude is the hallmark of Larry and his ability to get work done a with a smile. Larry would consume projects to make his community and the world a better place. He now has joined his partner in heaven and we wish John and Larry God Speed.
